Biographical Information: Thomas was born on 08 August 1921 in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire to Thomas and Clara Clements. The family later lived at 64 Birkin Avenue, Hyson Green, Nottinghamshire.

Thomas was raised in Basford where he was educated at Radford Boulevard School. Before joining the Navy he was employed at the Raleigh Works (cycles). He is known to have been posted to at least one other ship (one which had been torpedoed) before joining Hood.

He was 19 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
