Biographical Information: Eric was born on 02 August 1921 in St Pancras, London to Charles and Alice Eldred. The family later lived in Ryde, Isle of Wight. He was the brother of Lilian, Ethel, Terry, Marie and Chris Eldred. Eric attended School Street School on the Isle of Wight, and later worked as a butcher until joining the Royal Navy.
