Biographical Information: Eric was the son of Charles and Alice Eldred, of Ryde, Isle of Wight. He was the brother of Lilian, Ethel, Terry, Marie and Chris Eldred. Eric attended School Street School on the Isle of Wight, and later worked as a butcher until joining the Royal Navy. He was 20 years old at the time of his loss.
