Biographical Information: John was born in 1903, the son of Harry and Edith Hall. He attended Dartmouth Naval College. He is believed to have served about HMS Wryneck prior to joining the crew of Hood.

John was the husband of Joan Hall, of Bennington, Hertfordshire. Together they had three daughters. He was 38 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
