Biographical Information: Harold was born on 17 August 1893 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire to Samuel and Sarah Homer. He had two brothers and two sisters. One of his brothers is known to have been named Charles.

He worked as a book salesman before joining the Navy on 10 July 1914. He went on to server in numerous ships and establishments to include Victory II, Leviathan, Kent, Woodcock, Colombo, Dido, Tisgard, Malaya, Furious and Champion. He started as a Stoker 2nd Class and rose up through the ranks to become a Stoker Petty Officer in 1923 and a Chief Mechanician in December 1925. He ultimately saw service during both the First and Second World Wars and was awarded medals for each. He also had medals for long service and good conduct.

Harold was the husband of Ellen (known as "Nell") Homer, of Cosham, Hampshire. They were married in 1922. He was 47 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
