Biographical Information: Robert was born on 02 January 1911 at Stocks Farm, Haydock, Lancashire. He was the son of Paul and Margaret Ogden.

Robert entered the Royal Navy on 04 August 1926 as a Boy. His Boy service was completed on 02 January 1929. He then proceeded to spend the next twelve years and 4+ months in the service of the Navy.

Robert was was very good at his duties and received two Good Conduct Badges- the first was awarded 02 January 1932, and the second on 02 January 1937. Robert was 30 years old at the time of his loss.
