Biographical Information: John was born on 26 May 1903 in Portsmouth, Hampshire. He worked as a fitter and turner before joining the Navy on 20 January 1926.

John served at H.M.S.s Vernon, Victory, Furious and Coventry before joining Hood in September 1936. He was awarded the British Empire Medal during this time. He was 36 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
