Biographical Information: Leslie was born on 11 September 1919 to Frank and Sarah Shipp, of Portsmouth, Hampshire. He was the third of six children. His father was a licensed victualler in Portsmouth. Leslie and at least three of his siblings are known to have served during the Second World War- Leslie was in the Navy, his younger sister Doris was a member of the ATS and his younger brothers Ronald and Cyril served in the Army.

Leslie was 21 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
